Internship Visual and Graphic Designer

at Binary Pumpkin in Dundee

Binary Pumpkin are a games and digital content developer based in Dundee. Formed in 2011, they develop their own original IP as well as offer their services to third party clients. Formed by two developers with 30 years industry experience between them, they are concentrating their own IP at two markets - the 25-50 year old female market in US and Europe, and the emerging markets of Brazil, India and China. Their first self-published product Pumpkin Bingo has been played over 10,000,000 times and has been downloaded 250,000 times.

Any intern will be expected to work on live projects which will either be original IP or third party commissions under Non Disclosure Agreements. They will be provided a complete brief of requirements and will be expected to work under their own initiative but always being aware that all questions are valid and that the rest of the team are there to help each other. They will be using industry standard packages such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator and will be expected to have a good knowledge of these packages. As we are a small studio, we are also happy for staff to learn other skills whilst with us to expand their (and our) skillbase. They will have sole creative responsibility for their work with input from the supervisor, Directors and rest of the team.

1. Strong graphic design / UX skills
2. Strong 2D game visualisation skills
3. Experience of using industry standard Adobe packages (Illustrator, Photoshop)
4. Ability to work to a provided brief and to pre-agreed deadlines and quality levels

1. Interest in games
2. Existing experience using gaming middleware solutions (Unity, Corona, GameMaker etc...)
3. Ability to work well within a team and take constructive feedback onboard
